The history of the life cycle assessment begins as early as 1978, according to a corresponding time table . Over 18,000 entries on materials, processes, modes of transport, energy sources, infrastructure systems and types of waste from the life cycle assessment database of the Swiss ecoinvent center can be used to create the environmental assessment.
