Geneva is seeing a boom in timber-framed housing

In Vernier, a nine-storey timber-framed building comprising 100 social housing flats is ready for occupancy. At the same time, another nine-storey residential block made of Swiss timber is taking shape in La Jonction. The pressure is mounting because, from 2029, Geneva will require basic concepts for low-carbon materials in construction projects and will introduce binding limits from 2034.
