The association Energie bewegt Winterthur<\/a> said goodbye to its president Thomas Schumann, who has been in office since 2019, at its 2023 general meeting. St\u00e8ve M\u00e9rillat was unanimously elected as successor to Schumann, who is stepping down for age reasons, ebw informs in a statement<\/a>. M\u00e9rillat has also headed Technopark Winterthur<\/a>, which specialises in intelligent energy technologies, since the beginning of June.<\/p>\n

“It is very important to me that we tackle the challenges in the field of energy here and now,” the new president of ebw is quoted as saying in the statement. “As the head of Technopark and the new president of this regional network, I am convinced that together we will form a positive force to move the region forward in a sustainable way.”<\/p>\n

With Stadtwerk Director Marco Gabathuler and Roger Graber, Head of Economic Development House of Winterthur<\/a>, two other board members gave up their posts. Stefan Br\u00e4gger, the new representative of Stadtwerk Winterthur<\/a>, and Sven Corus, who has been Head of Economic Development at House of Winterthur since 1 February, succeeded them on the ebw board. Both were also unanimously elected to their new posts.<\/p>\n

The management of ebw was also placed in new hands at the general meeting. Since the founding of the association, Andreas M\u00e4chler of Taktform AG<\/a> had managed the operational business of the association, first as part of a team and then alone.
