According to a press release<\/a>, the city of Winterthur wants to create a new collection point for recyclables on Kronaustrasse. The site is owned by the city and is located next to the waste incineration plant. The city council approved a project planning credit of CHF 500,000 for this on 13 May.<\/p>\n

The new recycling centre should be completed by 2028. Private households will then be able to deliver their recyclables here. Pre-sorting will also take place here. The yard will be built and operated by the city. Maag Recycling AG<\/a> will be responsible for recycling the recyclables.<\/p>\n

Maag Recycling’s current site on the Maag Areal will only accept recyclables from commercial customers from 2028.<\/p>\n

The solution with two locations should relieve the traffic situation in the neighbourhood and enable better use of space. “This solution allows us to reorganise our company site and make it fit for the future,” Judith Maag is quoted as saying in the press release. “We feel at home in Winterthur and also want to make a long-term contribution to the circular economy here,” says the Managing Director of the family-run company.<\/p>\n
