The town of Baden<\/a> has launched a pilot project in collaboration with Aarvia<\/a> of Würenlingen AG. According to a press release<\/a>, Bankweg in the Turgi district is to be resurfaced using locally recycled asphalt. The aim is not only to utilise materials from the circular economy but, above all, to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. According to calculations, this amounts to 21.2 kilograms of CO2 per tonne of asphalt. Applied to the entire project, this would mean a saving of around 4 tonnes of CO2.<\/p>\n

The roadworks will involve the use of asphalt mixes containing at least 70 per cent recycled materials in the base course and 30 per cent in the surface course. The recycled material comes from the city’s dismantled road surfaces and is produced at the nearby processing plant in Mülligen. In addition to the circular economy, short transport distances also contribute to sustainability here.<\/p>\n
