As part of an industry-wide market analysis, 55 AI solutions were examined and 24 specific use cases for the construction and real estate industry were derived. The study showed that most solutions can be found in the utilization and operation phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reason is obvious: large amounts of data are generated during operation, processes are recurring, efficiency pressure is high and sustainability targets are ambitious. This is where AI is already delivering measurable added value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the planning phase, however, AI solutions have so far only been available in isolated cases. This is surprising in that there is a lot of potential for the use of AI in this phase in particular, for example in areas such as energy consumption and operating costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Three areas of benefit that can make all the difference<br><\/strong>PLANNING &#038; DEVELOPMENT<br>Still little used, but strategically highly relevant. AI can optimize construction and resource plans or support operational processes on the construction site. In times when operational efficiency is becoming increasingly important, such tools could make all the difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OPERATIONS &#038; MANAGEMENT<br>The current playing field of AI. Three factors determine success or failure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>Data basis &#038; governance: without clean, structured data, AI tools remain ineffective. Companies need to analyse their data quality, processes and IT infrastructure and optimize them if necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n\n<li>Strategic anchoring: It is not the technology that should drive the use of AI, but a clear, strategic goal such as increasing efficiency, reducing costs, sustainability or portfolio optimization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n\n<li>Realistic expectations &#038; suitable implementation strategy: Many of the solutions identified are still at the pilot stage. A step-by-step approach, for example using low-code platforms or proven tools, can help to gain initial experience and then scale up.<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Conclusion: Shaping the future instead of waiting<br><\/strong>Artificial intelligence opens up many opportunities for the real estate industry: it can make processes more efficient and decisions more informed, reduce operating costs, promote sustainability and strategically manage portfolios. For organizations that consciously and strategically invest in AI today, it will become a differentiating factor across all phases of the real estate life cycle.
