“Single-family homes remain very popular,” is how ImmoScout24<\/a> introduces a press release<\/a> on the current ImmoScout24 Purchase Index. It is compiled monthly by the property marketplace, which belongs to SMG Swiss Marketplace Group <\/a>AG<\/a>, in collaboration with IAZI<\/a>, a consultancy specialising in real estate. Compared to May, prices for single-family homes have risen by 0.8 per cent. In a year-on-year comparison, they have risen by 3.6 per cent.<\/p>\n

At 0.2 per cent, prices for owner-occupied flats rose much more slowly than prices for single-family homes. However, they had risen significantly by 0.8 per cent in May. Year-on-year, prices for condominiums rose by 4.5 per cent.<\/p>\n

The press release cites the current favourable financing conditions following the Swiss National Bank’s return to zero interest rates as a driver of demand. “For prospective buyers, now is a favourable time to consider the step into home ownership, especially with a view to planning security,” explains Martin Waeber, Managing Director Real Estate at SMG Swiss Marketplace Group.<\/p>\n

From a regional perspective, the rise in prices for owner-occupied flats was primarily driven by a significant increase in Central Switzerland. Above-average price increases for single-family homes were recorded in June in the regions of Lake Geneva, north-west Switzerland and eastern Switzerland.<\/p>\n
