She succeeds Lothar Thiele, who has chaired the board since 2019. The change not only gives the <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Innovation&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Innovation in der heutigen Immobilienwelt bedeutet vor allem Digitalisierung von Prozessen. Zum Beispiel das Eliminieren von Tausenden von Excel-Bl&auml;ttern f&uuml;r Portfolio- und Asset-Manager oder das Erstellen einer Anwendung (App) f&uuml;r alle Formalit&auml;ten rund um die Beziehung zwischen Immobilieneigent&uuml;mern, - verwaltung und -mietern.&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-mobile-support=\"0\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">innovation<\/span> hub new leadership, but also sends a clear signal in favour of diversity and future orientation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Impetus from research and technology<br><\/strong>Zimmermann&rsquo;s career has been characterised by interdisciplinary research and the targeted bridging of science and industry. As Director of Empa, she has been promoting sustainable innovations at the interface between the laboratory and the market for many years. She is now contributing this expertise to the strategic development of the Technopark, an ecosystem that connects start-ups, research institutions and companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Technopark as a workshop for the future<br><\/strong>For Zimmermann, Technopark Zurich is a place where ideas grow and become reality. &ldquo;This is where visionary research meets entrepreneurial action.
