The FRZ Zurich Airport Region<\/a> is strengthening its commitment to sustainability. It founded a sustainability advisory board on 6 February, the business network announced in a press release<\/a>. “Sustainability is not a trend, but a decisive success factor for companies and society,” it says, explaining the background to the decision.<\/p>\n

The new advisory board will act as a “leading competence centre” for sustainable innovations in the region. Specifically, its aim is to support companies, cities and municipalities in the introduction of sustainable business models. To this end, best practices are to be promoted and stakeholders from business, science and politics are to be brought together.<\/p>\n

The tasks of the new advisory board will also include the presentation of the FRZ Excellence Award. Each year, it will recognise outstanding achievements in ecology, social responsibility and innovation<\/span> by member companies of the FRZ Zurich Airport Region.<\/p>\n

The members of the Sustainability Advisory Board include Mario Angst from the University of Zurich<\/a>, Willi Gärtner from Planzer<\/a>, Thomas Meier from the Swiss Safety Centre<\/a> and the former Managing Director of the Greater Zurich Area<\/a>, Sonja Wollkopf. In total, four women and nine men from business, science and politics are represented on the advisory board.
