Axpo subsidiary<\/a> Urbasolar<\/a> has commissioned a rooftop solar plant with an output of 12.8 megawatts peak on the industrial roof of French real estate<\/span> developer<\/span> PRD<\/a> in Beauvais. The system, which covers an area of 62,000 square meters, is the largest rooftop solar system in France, the Baden-based energy company writes in a press release<\/a>. In addition to PRD, the investment management company HMC<\/a> was also involved in the realization of the project.<\/p>\n

The expansion of solar energy in Switzerland and Europe is one of Axpo’s strategic thrusts. The successful project in Beauvais illustrates the expertise that Axpo has built up in France through its subsidiary Urbasolar, explained Antoine Millioud in the press release. “Our extensive experience in various solar technologies enables us to expand our activities in other markets such as Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Spain and Poland,” said the Head of Axpo’s Solar division. “We are convinced that our capabilities in the construction of large-scale solar plants will further advance the energy transition and security of supply in Europe.”<\/p>\n

Urbosolar has already realized around 700 large-scale solar plants with various technologies in France. Over 190 megawatts of capacity have been installed with solar roof systems alone.
